Margit Pályi

Margit Pályi started her sports career in the colors of TFSC. Like several of her teammates, in addition to athletics she also competed in gymnastics. In 1928 she participated in the Amsterdam Olympics as a member of the Hungarian gymnastics team. The Hungarian women’s team led after the first day but fell back to fourth on the second as a result of the Jury ’s judgements. In November 1932, the board of directors of the Association of Hungarian Gymnastics Associations (MOTESZ) donated a large bronze medal to the members of the gymnastics team, with five ringed enamels and the engraved inscription “In memory and compensation - 1928”.

After completing her sports career, Pályi taught as a physical education teacher at the Teleki Blanka High School in Mezőtúr for thirty-four years, but returned to teaching for another seven years after her initial retirement. In addition, she worked as a judge in the Gymnastics Association.
