As an athlete for BBTE, Aranka Himfy achieved success in many sports: beside gymnastics, she was successful in swimming and diving.
In 1928 she participated in the Amsterdam Olympics as a member of the Hungarian gymnastics team. The Hungarian women’s team led after the first day but fell back to fourth on the second as a result of the judges’ decisions. After the Olympics, she turned to skiing through her husband, Nándor Szeiler, where she won championship titles in both alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. Their daughter Ildikó, is also an Olympic skier.
