Olga Tőrös took up gymnastics in 1934 while studying at the Dóczi Protestant Girls Boarding School in Debrecen. In 1935, she enrolled at the Hungarian University of Physical Education (now merged with Semmelweis University), and was a member of their gymnastics club. She was selected to the 1936 Hungarian Olympic team and won a bronze medal in the team event. Tőrös graduated with a physical education degree in 1939 and the same year moved to Kecskemét, where she worked as a physical education teacher with Kecskemét Reformed High School until her retirement in 1974.
