Nina Bocharova took up gymnastics shortly before World War II and was on the Soviet national team from 1948-54. Bocharova competed at two major international tournaments during her career. At the 1952 Olympics, Bocharova won golds in balance beam and team all-around and silvers in individual all-around and team portable apparatus. At the 1954 World Championships, Bocharova won gold in team all-around was fourth on uneven bars and sixth in individual all-around and balance beam. Domestically Bocharova was Soviet Champion in individual all-around in 1949, on uneven bars in 1951 and balance beam in 1949 and 1951. After finishing her sporting career, Bocharova worked as a gymnastics coach in Kyiv, Ukraine.
