Having trained under some of the top Slovenian gymnasts, Ruža Vojsk represented Yugoslavia in the tournament at the 1948 London Olympics, where the team all-around was the only event for women and her nation placed seventh. She was also selected as a reserve for the 1952 Helsinki Games, in the two team events as well as the individual all-around, but did not compete. She left Yugoslavia shortly after and lived in England, France, and Germany, before moving to the United States in 1968, eventually settling in New York. During this time, she traded gymnastics for distance running and was competing in marathons through the age of 73.
