Biography

Jens Kirkegaard was a member of the Danish gymnastics team that won silver in the Swedish system at the 1912 Olympics behind Sweden. He worked as a farmer in his native village Lindum. Kirkegaard married Bertine Johanne Mortensen, who died early in 1926. He then remarried Karen Nielsine Albrektsen. With her he had two sons and one daughter. In later life, Kirkegaard lived in Randers, working as a coachman and wood merchant.
