Ernest Page, a one-time secretary of the English Basketball Association, took charge of four basketball matches at the 1948 Olympics, including the classification round match between Peru and Cuba. Earlier, during the Group B match between Chile and Iraq (which Chile won 100-18), Page was knocked out after the ball broke his spectacles and cut his eyebrow.
