Biography

Elio Luglini was named the best Italian basketball referee in 1954, 1962 and 1966, awards that also brought him to the international limelight and allowed him to be present at two Olympics, World Championships, and various qualifying tournaments and European championships. After ending his refereeing career, Luglini actively devoted himself to a managerial job in the Federation. In 1989 he was appointed Honorary Referee of the F.I.P. (Italian Basketball Federation), the highest federal award for the referee class.
