Biography

After starting his basketball career as a player Radoslav Petrović soon switched to officiating the sport at a young age. Petrović became one of the best basketball referees in Yugoslavia, overseeing both domestic and international matches. In addition to officiating matches at the World and European Championships, and the Balkan Games, Petrović also worked as a referee at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics.

During his career Petrović served as the general secretary of both the Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia and the Basketball Federation of Serbia. His daughter Sonja was also a basketball player who represented Serbia at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, winning bronze in Rio de Janeiro. Away from sport Petrović worked as a lecturer at the Higher School of Mechanical Engineering in Beograd.
