Relying heavily upon his knowledge of the science of boxing, France’s Louis Constant was known for using his experience of studying all aspects of fighting to gain an advantage over his opponents, especially if an opening was given. He could take a certain amount of punishment in the ring, while remaining calm and not showing any anxiety. Constant, who was as charming out of the ring as he was in it, finished fifth in the featherweight division at the 1908 Olympic Games.
