Lajos Kmetykó started his gymnastic career at NTE. He was a member of the Hungarian gymnastic team at the 1907 World Championships, finishing sixth, and the 1912 Stockholm Olympics when, under the name Lajos Aradi, he won a team silver medal. His brother, János Kmetykó, was head coach of the Hungarian team. Aradi was a gold medalist in the team event at the Hungarian Championships on two occasions, with BTC in 1921, and with BBTE in 1924. During his gymnastics career, he obtained a degree in physical education, and from 1913, worked as a high school teacher and college professor, and between 1922-42 worked as a coach at BBTE.
