Biography
József Keresztessy was the grandson of József Keresztessy, who was the founder of the Hungarian sabre school. Keresztessy was a gymnast with NTE and a member of the Hungarian Gymnastic team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. After completing his career, Keresztessy became head coach of the women’s team of NTE, where several famous Hungarian female gymnast started their career, among them Ágnes Keleti. Kresztessy continued to compete for over 50 years in age-group competitions. After the disbandment of NTE, he emigrated to Canada in 1948.
