Jenő Rittich began his sports career in the colors of BBTE. He participated in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics under the sports name of Reti, where he was not only a member of the Hungarian gymnastic team, winning a silver medal in the team all-around competition, but also carried the Hungarian flag at the Opening Ceremony.
Reti graduated as an engineer in Budapest in 1913, and in the late 1920s emigrated to Canada with his brother, where they started to deal with European grape varieties in Kelowna, British-Colombia. Their wrote of their experiences in the book European Grape Growing in Cooler Districts, where Winter Protection Is Necessary, published in 1941 at Burgess, Minneapolis. He and his brother became well-known winemakers in Canada, and his son Eugene was an internationally renowned horn artist.
