One year after his Olympic team gold in Antwerp, Bellotto fell from the high bar, an accident which put an end to his career. He continued, however, to work as a coach in his club. Nothing else is known of his life. In honor of his sporting achievements, Arienti was awarded a Gold Medal by the Italian Olympic Committee.
