Manlio Pastorini was the team leader of the victorious Italians in Antwerp in 1920. He was also one of the pioneers of basketball in Italy. In 1920 he laid out a court at the Institute of Physical Education of Firenze (Florence) and promoted the idea of an Italian basketball league. Pastorini later founded a school for physical education in Firenze.
