Fujio Kakuta was the son of poet Kokokakaku Kakuta and competed at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics and 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was also known as a painter and graphic artist. Kakuta died only two years after the Berlin Olympics. His uniform worn at the Los Angeles Olympics is on display in the Prince Chichibu Memorial Sports Museum in Tokyo.
