Four years after competing in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, Takashi Kondo graduated from Waseda University’s Law School. Following his active career he became a sports manager acting as general gymnastics director at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and the 1960 Roma Olympics, Vice Chairman of the International Gymnastics Federation, Member of the Japan Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Asian Gymnastics Federation, and, since 1982, Chairman of the Japan Gymnastics Association (Honorary Chairman in 1991). In 1989 Kondo received the Olympic Order in Silver. In business, he served as President of Nitto Iron Works, a former Japanese steel company.
