One of France’s top boxers, Charles Morard, a clever two-handed boxer, was trained by the former American world lightweight champion, Frank Erne, and the American style of Morard’s boxing was there for all to see. At the 1908 Olympic Games in London, he finished sixth after being knocked out in the second round of his first bout by Great Britain’s Rube Warnes.
