Biography

André Vairolatto was a French lightweight boxer who competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Vairolatto won his first bout against Baek Do-Seon before losing to the eventual gold medallist Dick McTaggart in the quarter-finals. A year after the Olympics he turned professional, winning his début fight. He then won his next ten bouts before suffering his first professional loss in May 1958. He bounced back from the defeat to win eight more fights before having a string of losses during 1959. Two more wins followed that year, before Vairolatto lost his final professional fight in January 1960, which left him severally injured, resulting in being hospitalised.
