In 1912, Benkt Norelius was a member of the Swedish team that won gold in the Swedish system team event at the Stockholm Olympics. He was a career officer and rose to the rank of captain in the officer corps of the First Life Grenadier Regiment. Norelius was appointed Knight of the Swedish Order of the Sword and was a member of Jönköping’s “Par Bricole”, a Swedish Bacchanalian order society for men only. Norelius was married to Astrid Maria Elisabet Eliasson.
