Ferenc Rákosi (born as Rikker) was a rower, footballer and handball player. As a rower, he competed in the colors of Elektromos and achieved outstanding results. As a footballer, he was in the Turul team, where he later played for the handball team, but in 1930 he moved to Elektromos’ handball team
With his new team he won the Hungarian championship six times (1933, 1935, 1937, 1940, 1940 autumn and 1941). In 1941, he was named Handball Player of the Year.
Between 1934 and 1942 represented Hungary in the national team in 26 matches.
He was a member of national team at the 1936 Olympic Games, finishing fourth and at the 1938 World Championship also in Berlin, winning the bronze medal. In 1942, he took over the coaching and management of Kistex.
