Biography

Juan Aguilar represented Argentina as a middleweight boxer at the 1964 Olympics, after which he turned pro. Aguilar fought professionally through 1974, compiling a record of 29 wins, 18 losses, and 11 draws in 59 bouts. His first professional fight was in August 1965 when he defeated Juan Carlos Castellanos on points. Aguilar fought Víctor Galíndez, later world professional light-heavyweight champion, nine times, winning twice, losing four, drawing two, with one no contest. Aguilar held the Argentine light-heavyweight championship several times, but usually only briefly.
