Biography

William Cuthbertson was Scottish amateur flyweight champion in 1920-21, British Champion in 1921, and Scottish bantamweight champion in 1922, before turning professional in 1923. Cuthbertson had 15 professional fights between 1923-27. His brothers, Andy and Peter, were both professional boxers in the later 1920s and early 1930s. After his retirement from the ring, Cuthbertson became a boxing instructor at the Carnegie Gym in Dunferrnline and at Craigflower Private School at Torryburn.
