Erich Pointner was an Austrian lightweight judoka who participated in the 1972 München and 1976 Montréal Olympics. He was eliminated in the pool stage at München, and lost the bronze medal bout to Italy’s Felice Mariani at Montréal. That same year he won the silver medal at the Military World Championships. Pointner won three Austrian national titles from 1973-75.
