Modern pentathlete Horst Stocker finished 17th with the Austrian team at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics and came 52nd and last individually. He replaced Anton Liederer in the riding section. Stocker later became Head of Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Physical Training at the University of Wien (Vienna). From 2006-15 he was the Austrian national coach.
