Biography

Georges Brulé competed in the modern pentathlon at the 1912 Stockholm and 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. Despite very good results in fencing and running, he only finished 19th in 1912. In 1920 he moved up to ninth place thanks to his excellent fencing.

Brulé was a law student, when he first joined the Army in 1898. He fought in World War I with distinction in the 43rd and 208th Infantry Regiments. In 1915, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour. Until his retirement from military service in 1922, he was also awarded high honours by Romania and Sweden. In 1915 he married Marie Eugène Wirtz, but the marriage remained childless.
