Biography
Austrian rower Vera Sommerbauer partnered Inge Niedermayer in the double sculls at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Both won the B-final and placed seventh.
Sommerbauer competed at the 1978 World Championships in New Zealand, again with Niedermayer, and in 1982. In the single sculls Sommerbauer placed sixth at the 1985 Worlds, ninth in 1986, and 12th in 1987. Her home club was Pirat Wien.
