Austrian rower Viktor Flessl partnered Leo Losert in the double sculls at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and won the bronze medal. They won both won the German nationals in 1926 and 1927 and were runners-up in 1925 and 1928.
Like Adolf Hitler, Flessl was born in Braunau am Inn and was a bearer of the “Blood Order”, and was one of the strongest members of the SS. In 1943, he was killed in action during World War II in Bosnia fighting partisans as a lieutenant.
