Single scull rower Raimung Haberl represented Austria at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. He qualified for the B-final and finished eighth. Internationally he participated in unofficial lightweight rowing World Championships and won a silver medal in 1975, gold medals in 1976 and 1982, and bronze medals in 1978 and 1981. In 1985, he won his only official World Championship medal with a second place.
Haberl studied in Vienna and became professor for Natural Resources and Life Sciences at the University of Vienna until his retirement. He was head of the Institute for Urban Water Engineering, Industrial Water Management, and Water Protection.
