Coxswain Franz König was an Austrian rower who participated in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics with Josef Kloimstein and Alfred Sageder in the coxed pairs. The crew were eliminated in the semi-finals. König won a bronze medal at the 1956 European Championships with Kloimstein and Sageder.
