Biography

East German featherweight boxer Bernhard Schröter was eliminated in the second round at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics after losing to Finn Pentti Hämäläinen by decision. His home club was SC Chemie Halle. He reached the national finals in East Germany several times, but never won a title.
