Biography

Ernst Pistulla won the first German boxing medal ever at the Olympics. At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics he was the only German to reach a final, but lost the light-heavyweight bout against Argentine Víctor Avendaño. He was 1928 European Amateur Champion in 1928, as he was second at the Olympics and the best European, and in 1930-31. Pistulla fought as a professional through 1935. By profession he was an electrician.
