Biography

Joaquín Pérez-Febles was selected to represent Cuba in the coxless fours at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The Cuban rowing quartet finished in last place in their heat and their repêchage race, eliminating them from the competition. Pérez-Febles studied at the University of La Habana until the Cuban revolution, when he moved with his family to the United States in 1962.

Following his move to America Pérez-Febles completed his dental studies, attending Georgetown University and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and later earning a certificate in implant dentistry from Harvard. He was a member of the American Board of Periodontology and the Northern Virginia Dental Society, with his career as a dentist and periodontist spanning more than 50 years.
