Rasmus Frandsen rowed in the Danish four to win bronze at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm. With only two boats in each race, they lost the semi-final against the eventual winner from Germany. Together with the loser of the second semi-final, the boat from Norway, they tied for bronze.
Frandsen made his exam at the Polytechnic School in 1905 and earned a master’s degree in 1912. In 1911 and 1912, he worked as an assistant to the city engineer in København (Copenhagen). In 1914, he married Marie Sørensen. From 1915, he was city and port engineer in Næstved. There, he joined the Næstved Roklub and was awarded the Golden Rowing Pin in 1949.
