Waldemar Beck and Gerhard Füßmann did not qualify for the final in the double sculls at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics as they were eliminated in the repêchage of the semi-finals. The two men won the German Championship in 1952. In addition, Beck was the national sculling champion in 1950 and 1952, and was placed third in 1951.
