Ervin Kereszti was the coxswain of Pannonia. His extremely small stature (160 cm and 50 kg) made him particularly suitable for this position. Between 1934-1938 as a rower of Pannónia he won the Hungarian championship seven times (3x eights, 3x fours, 1x pairs). He won his eighth title after the Second World War, in 1948 with the Ganz eights. At the European Championships as a coxswain of the Hungarian eights, he won a gold medal in 1935 and a silver medal in 1938. In 1933 he finished second with the coxed fours. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he participated with the eights of Pannonia and finished fifth.
In his youth, he was a member of the University Radio Club, where he achieved considerable success and was the winner of several competitions. In 1932, he obtained the title of Hungary’s best shortwave amateur. In 1934, he was a founding member of the National Association of Hungarian Shortwave Amateurs.
He worked as a sound engineer of the Hungarian Film Office and was the sound engineer for the vast majority of films made there. In the 1960s, he taught the subject “radio technology” at Kálmán Kandó Technikum.
