Biography

Csaba Kuzma began his boxing career at Oroszlányi Bányász SC, then transferred to the county rival Tatabányai Bányász. He quickly stood out with his physical strength and technical precision. He became a defining figure in the Hungarian heavyweight field in the 1970s and 80s, winning the Hungarian championship in middleweight in 1978 and as a light-heavyweight in 1979. In 1980, in addition to his team championship title, he competed in the light-heavyweight category at the Moskva Olympics and finished ninth there.

After the Olympics, Kuzma gave up active sports. In addition to his achievements in the ring, he also made a lasting impression as a coach: he helped the careers of many young boxers in Tatabánya, and generations grew up under his guidance. Csaba Kuzma’s name is therefore unavoidable in the history of boxing in Tatabánya, not only as a competitor, but also as a trainer.
