The Italian coxed pair with Ercole Olgeni and Giovanni Scatturin won the 1920 gold medal in Antwerpen and the 1924 silver medal in Paris but with different coxswains. As early as 1905, Olgeni won his first Italian title in the coxed fours. In 1906 he was part of the winning team in the coxed pairs at the Italian championships and was nominated for the European Championships, where he also triumphed in coxed pairs. He later added two more European titles with varying partners in the coxed pairs (1911) and fours (1908). Through 1924, Olgeni added three more silvers and one bronze medal at the Europeans.
