Biography

Mehtab Singh boxed for India as a light-heavyweight at the 1972 München Olympics, losing in the first round. Singh’s biggest international accomplishment was winning a silver medal at the 1974 Asian Games. He was also the 1973 Asian Champion. Singh won international bouts when India faced off against Germany in 1973 and 1974. He was given the Arjuna Award in 1973 for his service to Indian boxing. Singh was honorary captain (retired) of 1 Guard (2 Punab).
