Biography

David Hollister was an Australian sports shooter who competed at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and World Championships. In 1980 Hollister tied for 15th with two other athletes in the small-bore rifle, prone event at the Moskva Olympics, after scoring 595 points out of a possible 600. He had a long career, competing at international events for more than two decades. In 2006 Hollister won bronze in the 300 metres free rifle prone team event at the World Shooting Championships in Zagreb. Back in Australia he was a member of the Roseville Rifle Club, where he was active in mentoring young members on the shooting range. Prior to his retirement he also ran a printing business with his wife.
