Charles Paumier du Verger was born in Schaerbeek, the son of a surveyor. Alongside Paul Van Asbroek, he was one of the most successful and pioneering Belgian sports shooters for several decades around the turn of the 20th century. A multiple national champion, he also competed at multiple World Championships between 1900 and 1912, winning over 20 medals, including eight world champion titles. A resident of Schaerbeek, he was a by profession.
Paumier du Verger was a founding member of L’Union de Sociétés de Tir de Belgique in 1903 alongside Van Asbroek, Julien Van Asbroek, Joseph Geens and Captain Marga.
