Biography

Considered to be one of the greatest Brazilian sports shooters of all time, Athos Pisoni specialised in skeet shooting. In 1975 Pisoni won gold in the event at the Pan American Games in Mexico City when he scored 199 out of 200, a record that stood through to 2025. At the Games he also won silver in the team skeet event, along with bronze in the team trap. The following year he competed in skeet at the Montréal Olympics, but finished tied for 22nd with three other athletes who all scored 191. Following his competitive career Pisoni worked as a sports shooting coach, including a stint managing the national team.
