Peppino Mura was an Italian boxer. Born in Northern Sardinia, he was Italian Champion in 1965, and won gold at the 1967 Mediterranean Games. A year later, at the Mexico City Olympics, Mura went out in the third round, losing a split decision to Samuel Mbugua of Kenya.
Mura turned professional in 1969 and was unbeaten through 1974, until he lost a bout for the Italian title on 18 April 1975, knocked out by Giovanni Girgenti at Milano. He revenged that defeat on 2 August of the same year, defeating Girgenti by TKO in the seventh round. Mura’s final bout came the day after Christmas 1975 at Brescia, losing to Natale Vezzoli by KO in the 10th round. Pino Mura retired with a professional record of 25 bouts, with 22 wins (10 by KO), 1 draw and two losses, both by KO.
