Franco Nenci was a boxer who competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, winning a silver medal after losing in the final to Soviet boxer Vladimir Engibaryan. Nenci competed while he worked days at the harbor, and trained in the gym in the evenings. He later turned professional, boxing as a pro from September 1957 to July 1967. His career pro record was 36 wins (3 by KO), 13 losses, and 8 draws. In April 1964 he fought for the Italian welterweight title but lost by TKO to Fortunato Manca.
