Former boxer Bruno Visintin won the Italian league as an amateur featherweight in 1951 and was lightweight champion at the European Championships in Milano. The following year he won the bronze medal at the Olympics in Helsinki as a light welterweight. Visintin then turned pro, and was Italian champion as a lightweight (1955-1956), welterweight (1958-1961), super-welterweight (1963-1964), and was also European Champion as a super-welterweight (1964-1966). He also lost bouts for the European lightweight (1953) and welterweight (1960) titles, to Duilio Loi both times. Visintin’s career record was 78 wins (23 by KO), 9 losses (1 by KO), and 2 draws.
