Francisco Sanz was a noted Spanish sports shooter who specialised in the pistol events. Sanz had the honour of competing at his home Olympics when Barcelona hosted the Games in 1992. He finished 37th in the 50 metres free pistol, but fared better in the 10 metres air pistol to finish just inside the top twenty. Prior to the Olympics he was appointed as a board member of the Valencia Shooting Federation in 1974 before becoming their President in 1986.
