Trap shooter Henri le Marié was a landowner from Laval and president of the National Hunting Committee. He also earned a doctorate of law and was captain of territorial infantry. In 1906, he was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour. He was married to Marie Antoinette Sophie de Carrère Saint-Béarn, the daughter of a tax collector.
