Henry Burt was a member and former captain of the Wandsworth Rifle Club. He won the bronze medal in the 50 metres miniature rifle event at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics when he finished one point behind fellow Briton William Milne, and two points behind the American gold medallist Fred Hird. Prior to joining the Wandsworth Club, Burt was a member of the Balham and Southern rifle club and finished second at Bisley in 1906 in The Greener miniature rifle competition.
