William Grosvenor had a long competitive shooting career. While he appeared at the Bisley meeting on many occasions over more than 30 years, he appeared in the three Olympics between 1912-24, with a team trap silver medal in 1912 being the highlight of his career. He continued shooting competitively beyond the age of 60 when he represented England in the annual International Clay Pigeon Shooting match against Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Grosvenor’s wife Ida was an excellent shot and was the one-time Norfolk ladies’ champion.
