Harry Köcher was a member of the mixed German team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. He competed in the three-position free rifle event, finishing eighth, and he placed an unfortunate fourth in the small-bore rifle three-position event. Köcher won seven East German titles in the 1950s and 1970s, also winning four medals at the European Championships. Köcher was a wood carver as a hobby. His wife Erna was also a sport shooter.
